Soroptimist International of Grass Valley is NOW Accepting Grant Applications
Soroptimist International of Grass Valley proudly supports local nonprofit organizations through our annual grant program. Grant applications are accepted each March from nonprofits serving Grass Valley and surrounding communities.
Our grants support programs and services that improve the lives of women and children. Funding may be requested for:
Specific projects or programs
General operating expenses
Eligible organizations may request up to $2,000.
To be considered, applicants must:
Be a certified tax-exempt nonprofit organization
Serve Grass Valley or surrounding areas
Focus on direct service programs benefiting women and children
Priority is given to smaller, local organizations that provide direct services and operate with limited fundraising resources.
Since launching our grant program in 2013, Soroptimist International of Grass Valley has awarded more than $100,000 to local organizations. Since our founding in 1965, we have contributed an estimated $303,000 to programs supporting women and children in our community.
Organizations we have supported include:
KARE Crisis Nursery
Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation
Breastfeeding Coalition of Nevada County
Hospitality House
Women of Worth
One Source Empowering Caregivers
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Nevada County Association for the Developmentally Disabled
Grant funding is made possible through community support, including proceeds from our popular Rice Bowl food booth on Treat Street at the Nevada County Fair, along with other fundraising efforts throughout the year.
